Looking after your flowers
Your flowers are delivered in an ‘Aqua pack’ which contains a specialist florist gel.
This Gel is designed to provide the cut flowers with moisture during the transportation, as this is a gel and not water it should not cause any damage to the packaging in transit.
Remove all the packaging from your bouquet, make sure you hold the bouquet over a sink when you remove the aqua pack.
Rinse the gel from the stems and snip the end of each stem at a sharp angle, this will aid the flowers ability to drink more water.
Once the flowers have been snipped place them straight into your vase of clean, cold water as the stems will re-seal quickly and reduce the ability to feed.
Dependent on the season, temperature of your room and the variety of flowers we suggest you change the water every 2-3 days, re cutting the stems at the same time to help prolong the lifespan of the flowers as much as possible.
Avoid placing your flowers in direct sunlight.
Avoid sitting the bouquet in front of any air conditioning unit or heating system.
Use a vase or container with enough space at the neck for air to oxygenate the water and so stop the water polluting quickly and killing the flowers.
Old Wives Tales
Drop a penny in the bottom of your vase?
A spoon full of sugar helps feed the flowers?
Add one aspirin to the vase
Add a drop of bleach
These and many more are not ‘scientifically proven’ to prolong the life of your flowers, however, none of these 'tips' would do anything to damage or kill your bouquet so we leave this to the 'old wives' to decide!
